St. Thomas Malankara Catholic Parish

The community is shepherded by Pastor Rt. Rev. Msgr. Dr. Peter Kochery.  The Parish serves the Malankara Catholic faithful located in New Jersey and Staten Island, New York of the St. Mary, Queen of Peace Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy of USA and Canada with His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos as our sui juris Church Head and Father, and His Holiness Pope Francis as our Universal Shepherd and Supreme Pontiff.

The St. Thomas Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish was originally established as a Malankara Catholic Mission on 24 September 1995 at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Jersey City, New Jersey by the late Head and Father of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church His Beatitude Moran Mor Cyril Baselios Catholicos.

On 08 July 2012, by means of decree the St. Thomas Syro-Malankara Catholic Parish was canonically established by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius, Bishop of the St. Mary, Queen of Peace Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy in USA and Canada.

The community since then has relocated to its current location at 11 Delaware Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey, which was previously the Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

Although the members are located in a vast geographical area we regularly gather to worship and to celebrate our fellowship and heritage with enthusiasm.
